About Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary: Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra in Morigaon district in Assam, India. It was declared in 1987 and covers 38.85 km2 (15.00 sq mi), providing grassland and wetland habitat for the Indian rhinoceros. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary holds one of the largest Indian rhinoceros populations in Assam. The grasslands provide habitat and food resource for the Indian rhinoceros, hosting Assam’s second largest population. Other mammals occurring in the sanctuary are golden jackal, wild boar and feral water buffalo. Barking deer, Indian leopard and rhesus macaque live foremost in the hilly parts. VENKATESWARA TEMPLE, TIRUMALA News: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is planning to deploy anti-drone technology around the Sri Venkateswara temple. The temple management is in talks with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the technology provider, as well as Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL, Bengaluru), in this regard. The cost of the anti-drone installation is likely to be ₹25 crore. NASA’S JUNO SPACECRAFT News :  The US space agency NASA has recently released a new video in which its Juno spacecraft was seen flying close to Jupiter’s moon Ganymede. Details: Using the spacecraft’s JunoCam imager, the NASA mission team has put together this animation to provide a “starship captain” point of view of each flyby. The imagery shows several of the moon’s dark and light regions (darker regions are believed to result from ice sublimating into the surrounding vacuum, leaving behind darkened residue) as well as the crater Tros, which is among the largest and brightest crater scars on Ganymede. It takes just 14 hours, 50 minutes for Juno to travel the 735,000 miles (1.18 million kilometers) between Ganymede and Jupiter, and the viewer is transported to within just 2,100 miles (3,400 kilometers) above Jupiter’s spectacular cloud tops. ST. KETEVAN RELICS TO BE DISPLAYED IN INDIA News :  Almost 400 years after she was murdered in present day Iran, relics of St. Queen Ketevan that were found in Goa in 2005 are likely to be put on display in India as well as her native Georgia, according to Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials. Details: India previously, handed over one part of the relics to Georgia as a gift from India. Queen Ketevan was killed in 1624 in Shiraz for not converting to Islam and parts of her remains were brought to Goa by Augustinian monks. Revered as a martyr, her relics remained lost till 2005 as the St. Augustine Church collapsed in 1842. Larger part of the relic remained with the ASI in Goa and would be publicly displayed for the first time.
